Itinerary
On arrival at Kushok Bakula Airport Leh meet our representative at the airport who will assist your transfer to your hotel in Leh. After smooth check-in take rest to acclimatize yourself completely to the high altitudes of Ladakh. In the afternoon proceed for Leh Local sightseeing visit: Leh Palace is a former royal palace overlooking the Ladakhi Himalayan town of Leh. Shanti Stupa is a Buddhist white-domed stupa on a hilltop in Chanspa, built in 1991 by Japanese, it holds the relics of the Buddha at its base, enshrined by the 14th Dalai Lama himself. A Zip Line has been introduced on Chanspa hill recently for the adventure lovers. Enjoy your evening by taking a walk around the bustling Leh Market. Night Stay Leh.
Today you will take a full day tour to Indus Valley, visit: Thiksey monastery which has its roots in Guleg Sect of Tibetan Bhuddism is famous for its strong resemblance to Potala Palace in Tibet. It is a beautiful monastery build on a hill with 12 story complex in a terraced fashion. Shey Palace and Gompa is located in a Shey Village near Leh, it was the summer retreat for the royal family from 1650 till 1834, and the adjacent gompa has Chortens with pure gold tops and houses 24 Feet statue Sakyamuni Bhudda plated with pure gold, silver and studded with expensive gems and precious stones. Hemis monastery one of the most famous monasteries of Drupka School, established long before 11 AD and re-established in 1672. Later on the way back to Leh visit Sindhu Ghat for Sindhu Darshan and walk along the river, also visit 3 Idoits School campus. Overnight stay in Hotel at Leh.
After breakfast at Leh you will proceed to Nubra Valley via the mighty Khardung-la Pass (one of the highest motorable road in the world 5602 m). On the way, you have amazing panoramic views of Indus valley, Shayok River, Himalayan Mountains and Karakoram Mountains range. After reaching Nubra continue your drive to Turtuk, it is one of the gates to the Siachen Glacier and is the last outpost in India before entering Pakistan-controlled Gilgit-Baltistan. Because it is part of the Gilgit-Baltistan area, it is culturally, linguistically, and historically distinct from the rest of your Ladakh vacation. In comparison to Central Ladakh and Nubra, the terrain is very unique, with stunning small valleys and high mountains. Drive back to Nubra for overnight stay.
After breakfast explore the Nubra valley (The valley of flowers). The most attractive features of Nubra valley is the sand dunes in Hunder where you enjoy the Double humped Bactrian camel riding (on own expense). After that continue driving to Deskit and visit the famous Diskit monastery. This picturesque monastery is built on hill top overlooking the valley. Continue your drive to Leh.
After breakfast you will be transferred to Leh Airport to catch flight for onward destination with sweet Holiday memories. *Tour Ends*
